I Love The Real Housewives - Atlanta Finale
69
Hello everybody and thanks for dropping by. Last night we had the season finale of The Real Housewives Of Atlanta. First thought, did anyone else think the episode was too long for what we got? It all seemed anti-climatic in my opinion, but it certainly was not without it's moments.
I totally loved seeing Miss Lawrence's gender bending, Grace Jones like performance of "Closet Freak." I couldn't get to iTunes fast enough to buy it. She has a great voice and a lot of potential. Kandi is an incredibly gifted songwriter. With her help, Miss Lawrence is on a path to success.
I was very touched to see the softer side of Phaedra. Seeing tears stream down her face as she was going back to work for the first time since the baby was born, was very genuine and touching. For as much as she loves her career, she loves Ayden with all of her soul. I also have to mention, I loved her outfit. Those red heels were sharp!
I didn't think they showed enough of Sheree this season. There were the few episodes with the weird, fake doctor, then not a heck of a lot else. Her audition for "If These Hips Could Talk" made me feel really bad for her. I thought she did pretty good, but the casting people treated her horribly. I was shocked to hear on Watch What Happens that she got the part. I can't wait to see it. I give her all the credit in the world for starting something new. It looks like she is taking it very seriously, so good for her.
Even if I didn't know NeNe and Greg were now separated, it was pretty obvious by their scene together that the marriage was not going to work out. Sometimes things reach a point where the apologies become empty and I think that is where the couple were at the time of filming. She seems like a very strong woman and I wish her the best. If she moves to Los Angeles, I wonder how the Atlanta show would do without her? Maybe she could join the cast of Beverly Hills! Now that would be interesting. I wonder if that crazy psychic Alison could tell us? Maybe she could join the ladies of OC. That would be incredible. But I think NeNe may be off to bigger and better things. You go girl!
I'm really not in the habit of commenting on breasts, but Kim's new ones do look better. I think she should have covered them up a bit more for Cynthia's wedding. I saw enough of her roaming areola for one night!
Speaking of Cynthia, let's move on to the wedding. "The Bride & The Doom" was quite an appropriate title for this episode. Kim bringing her own wine was maybe the tackiest but funniest thing I have ever seen! Let me start by saying that I truly hope Cynthia and Peter are happy together and that their marriage lasts forever. Sometimes after adversity true love prevails. I have to give Cynthia a little bit of heat though. I personally did not appreciate her saying "I don't do broke well." Who does? I don't. Does anybody that reads this do broke well? I doubt it. She spent thousands of dollars on a wedding and then she cries that she is broke. Many people aren't lucky enough to have a parent that can just pick up a $3000 beverage tab at the drop of hat. She should have had someone cough up a few grand for some flowers and wedding bands. I mean go for it if you going to go through with it. Which her sister and mother clearly did not want her to do.
Cynthia's mom and sister came up with a clever little plan when they were hiding the wedding license. They did the right thing in the end and gave it to her. It wasn't their place to decide for her. Cynthia's gown was stunning. I loved the color and the fabric. I'm usually more of a traditionalist but this gown was exceptional. Finally, I have to say this. If Cynthia and Peter were just going to get all liquored up before the ceremony they should have just gone to Vegas and saved a heck of a lot of money! I can't decide if it calmed their nerves, helped them go through with it, or both. What do you think?
Overall I enjoyed the season. Some episodes were a little lackluster, but it's not like they were not watchable. It was nice to see that NeNe and Dwight appear to have worked things out, but I wish NeNe and Kim could have as well. I like both of them but they just don't mesh with each other. Hey it's reality, sometimes you just don't stay friends with people. I look forward to seeing them on the reunion. I saw the preview on WWH and it doesn't look like any fences have been mended so it should be good. As I was about to begin writing this I noticed that NeNe and Kim were having a bit of Twitter war. I won't reprint that here as that just isn't my style, but it's out on Twitter if you want to check it out for yourself. Very entertaining.
Finally, does anyone know what Kim's puppy's name is? She is so darn cute. The Housewive's pets are taking over these days!
A big thanks to all of you for reading, as well as your comments and kind emails. A special thanks to Cindy Barshop and Sonja Morgan for re-tweeting this blog. I'm so excited we get to see the two of you on February 15. We all can't wait!
Tuesday night is part two of The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills Reunion. I expect big happenings there. Until then, stay warm. I look forward to reading your opinions.

Check out Lisa V's and Giggy's tweets over the weekend and you will see. I am on team Lisa and Giggy on the issue in dispute.
I am sure OC will provide some great TV. Wherever Vicki Gunvalson goes there is dram and conflict. She calls them as she sees them with no filter -- the Ramona of the OC show. She makes for great entertainment. Should be especially interesting given that Vicki filed for divorce from her husband in October. Vicki plying the singles scene should be a hoot. Can't wait for her to school wayward suitors for her affections.
I think Kim's dog is named Chanel
I seen Sheree perform the play she auditioned for. I think the agents that did her audition weren't very excited at first, but they took her anyway because of her star quality. It was surprising to see her actually pull it off. I think she should stick to acting though and leave the dancing part alone.
It was heartbreaking to see NeNe and Kim fighting again during the trip to Miami. I thought both of them learned a lesson from their fight last season. Kandi was right when she said Kim was going to regret forgetting what happened with NeNe. We should all forgive but never forget.
Miss Lawrence was amazing at the end of Andy Cohen with guest Rupaul. I thought Lawrence showed Rupaul a thing or two on the show when she performed. Miss Lawrence's since of fashion seems to be a bit higher than Rupaul's.
I kind of felt with this finale that it was such an intense and personal moment that I felt guilty watching it unravel. I hope that Cynthia and Peter make it work, but they should really get some counseling. I normally am a fan of NeNe but this year I think she was in the same frame of mind as Camille on BH, which goes to the marriage issue. I really missed Lisa, she was always my favorite and no one took her place or filled that void for me. I am not sure I would watch the next season as I don't find the other ladies as entertaining. Kim is ridiculous, Sheree and Phaedra are so fake to me. Kandi can sing and is an amazing entertainer, but she is so BORING! Cynthia came a little into her own when she broke away a little from NeNe but I just don't know. I expected more from Atlanta, hopefully the reunions are better.

Overall, good entertainment but not even approaching the excellence of the BH finale. Given NeNe's rough treatment of Lisa from BH and the ensuing Twitter war, I don't see NeNe ever going on the BH show or fitting in with the cast.
I'm really looking forward to the NY premiere and seeing how Cindy fits into the cast. Based on Twitter traffic, she seems to have made some real friends among my fav cast members, which means that I'll probably come to like her.
