The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills have provided one of the best premiere seasons in Housewife history in my opinion. Possibly the best. This is not totally surprising as Bravo has honed its skills on how to film dramatically, create scenarios and instigate chaos and drama. But as it is with all other housewife franchises, its the wives themselves that make the shows what they are. In this case, great!
Beverly Hills up until it's finale was a fun season. Lisa Vanderpump and Adrienne Maloof are my two favorite wives on this show and the matriarchs of this group. Their attempts to keep peace have been respectable and sometimes funny. Lisa sounded hilariously exasperated at Camille's dinner party when she stated "Oh God no, not New York again!" Referring of course to the infamous New York blow up between Camille and Kyle, Taylor and Kim.
Speaking of Camille's dinner party, was that not a classic moment in housewife history?
We also got to enjoy one of the finest set of house husbands there are excluding Taylor's husband Russell. I know that Taylor is not a fan favorite, but I will admit that I began to like her as the season developed. I loved seeing her so open about her life at her Charity Poker Tournament, and I give her credit for standing up and stopping the nonsense at the infamous dinner party. I also respect the fact that she is at least recognizing that her husband is a complete.....problem.
The sisters, Kim and Kyle were great all season as well. I can't lie, I suspected something was up with Kim pretty much in the first episode. She seemed so sad and like an outcast. But I like her a lot. Kyle on the other hand, what's not to like about her? Yet, why am I not sure that I do? Maybe I sensed all of her inner turmoil towards her sister.
Camille. She sure was pretty nasty all season, but I respect her for the honest way she shared the end of her marriage. That had to have been devastating for her to do and somehow, when all of this passes for her, I hope her heart is kinder and she finds peace and happiness. When she mentioned that she felt Kelsey kept her "caged" that was quite telling and perhaps explains her behavior.
That was the season, but now we have the finale. There was nothing very funny about this episode in fact, a few times I felt like I was intruding on a deeply personal, private family issue between Kim and Kyle.
I know everybody will write about this episode, but I can only offer it to you from my own view. I have to start by saying that although Cedric pretty much had me fooled all season, I feel that the fact that him and Lisa are not speaking since he was asked to leave the Vanderpump residence speaks volumes about his credibility. If he was as true to Lisa and Ken as he said, would this be the case?
I know there are other things to discuss, but we all know it is all about Taylor's party and what happened between the sisters. This episode hit me very personally as alcoholism was a part of my childhood and I know what a horrible disease it is for the person suffering from it and their loved ones. If I had to speculate about that evening, I would say the pieces added up. Kim Being late, Kim meeting an old friend that it seemed they haven't seen in a while (drinking buddy?) Kyle's initial statement to Lisa that Kim appeared drunk, Lisa's shock, Kyle's ensuing anger all pointed to the possibility that Kim had been sober and broken her sobriety. This is what it looks like, I can tell you that first hand. But my understanding for Kyle stops right there. Kyle acted selfish at times. If my theory is correct, on the inside, nobody was hurting more than Kim that evening, yet Kyle and her new best friend Taylor continue to try to make Kim out to be a horrible idiot. Thanks to Bravo showing us the flashback that Kim had it right, we see that she may have problems, but she is not a liar or idiot.
It's also obvious that these sisters have issues going back to their youth. I think that Kim feels that she gave up her childhood and part of her young life only to see Kyle reaped the rewards and prosper from her sisters sacrifice and hard work. Kyle feels Kim is now dependent on her and resents it. Like I said earlier, it seems very personal, even by housewife standards. This was not Kim and NeNe or Danielle and Teresa going at it, this was family. That made it much more intense. I wish these ladies well and I hope that the both, not just Kim, receive the help they need to have a healthier relationship. Maybe seeing it play out on screen will help.
I have to send kudos out to Adrienne who was the heroine of this episode. She is a great friend and really tried to help the sisters.
Let me end by saying, I still can't get enough of Giggy! Pikachu and Lollipop are adorable as well. Did I see a fourth dog last night? Very sweet.

I agree whole heartedly. I felf horrible for Kim and I wished I could rescue her because she seems like she needs a really good friend. Kyle is a selfish witch(doesn't it aggravate you how she flips her hair constantly like a teenager) It is so obvious that Kyle is resentful and not at all grateful for what Kim provided for her family growing up. Kyle is mean and she reminds me of the other housewive's song Money can't buy you Class. She pretends to be real sweet and then starts dropping the F-Bombs. Very Classy Kyle. Kyle and Taylor are both phony. Taylor must be insecure because she always looked for a reason to attack the frailist one of the group which is Kim. I bet Kyle and Taylor were the mean girls in school who pretend to be someone's friend just to make fun of them and humiliate them. I can't help but wonder what Kathy Hilton thinks of her sisters' relationship.
Adrianne was amazing and she and Lisa are true class. I wasn't too happy with Lisa during the last episode but in all of the other episodes she always remained composed and classy. I think the motto that Adrianne has really personifies that wonderful person she -"Money is what I have - Not who I am"
I have always felt sorry for Camille from the moment Kelsey pulled out of his driveway to live in New York for a year - He didn't act like he was sad to leave her in Beverly Hills. How about the visit to his dressing room in NYC- he couldn't get her out of the dressing room fast enough. All the little misunderstandings Camille had I think were truly rooted in her insecuities.

I also think it was why Camille was downright paranoid that people were dismissing her unless Kelsey was involved. Thus provoking the fight with Kyle.
I hope she returns so we can see her without this hanging over her head.

You are correct and on point Ms Lisa. I am saddened to see both sisters fight like this...it broke my heart. At one point, I thought LISA was instigating something when she told Taylor to speak on the truth. Then when the truth came out-I was shocked! Kyle best wake up and realize that Taylor wasn't nice to her sister. Lastly, Kyle should take a step back and take a closer look at herself before judging her sister. It's easy to look at Kim's fault now that she is not rich or perhaps just doesn't have as much as she had in the past. Sooo SAD! Shame on YOU Kyle! Adrienne, you're a good friend. God Bless You! Taylor you're a sneak...you wouldn't be MY friend. Especially after watching this last episode. Hopefully Kyle saw what we saw last night and got a rude awakening. HOPEFULLY! Only time will tell.

I completely agree with everything you wrote. I was in complete shock when I saw the episode last night, never in a million yrs would I have thought it wouldve ended like that. Taylor of an instigator, & is as fake & phoney as they come, I love Lisa &, Adrienne, Kim & Kyle I just hope they work thru their problems, Camille I didn't like her this season cuz of her negativty towards Kyle, but after seeing what was going on it explains it. Think your blog is sensitive to all these women. Love Lisa and Adrienne. Was a huge fan of Kim Richards when I was a kid. She does seem sad. I was surprised by the alcoholic accusation. Didn't see it coming
I know everyone is heartbroken for Kim but I feel bad that everyone is mad at Kyle. We dont know what she has to deal with on a day to day basis with Kim...it seems like alot. Does her sister Kathy deal with it? If her family put her in rehab and she checked out one week later come on....I think Camille is just not a nice person. If her marriage was so bad and she felt like she was in a cage then she should feel some relief...I think she likes the high life a little bit. I also read somewhere that she did not birth her own children so she would not upset her great figure...so what does that say?
I liked Kyle until I found out she was a friend of Faye Resnick. I know she had nothing to do with the murders of Ron Goldman/Nicole Brown Simpson, but something about her bothers me. I hope she got her drug problem under control. And quite honestly, I didn't know who Kim Richards was at first. I had to google her. I'm sorry, but she hasn't aged well.
Adrienne kinda scared me at first. Perhaps after seeing her kick-boxing. Now I admire her...especially after last night. She and her husband crack me up!
I don't trust Taylor. Her lips are distracting. I don't listen to what she says, I just stare at her mouth!
And at first I felt sorry for Kelsey Grammer, but now I feel sorry for their sweet kids. So sad, that that marriage didn't last.
I love Lisa and I wish she was my friend. We'd have a great time shopping! I love Giggy the Pom because I have a teacup poodle I call my Purse Dog. We need to see more of him next season! Can't wait for the reunion show!
Camille just needs to relax! A marriage without a prenup is a recipe for good living!!! She just needs to move on without Kelsey. Why would you want to be married to a man like that anyway, who shows no respect for his wife.....
Thanks to all of you for the comments. This is really what I had hoped for! I love reading all the different opinions. I had heard the rumor about Camille using surrogates to give birth to her children to save her figure. Does anyone really think someone would do that for that specific reason??? I don't know....but who knows.
I disliked Camille this entire season until the finale. I could FEEL her hurt when she spoke about Kelsey. Nobody should be treated like that, let alone by your own husband and father of your children! How humiliating for her when she had to show ID at the apt, and Kelsey didn't even want her to set foot anywhere around there. To make things worse, she still loves him. I can relate, same thing happened to me many yrs ago. It took more than 5yrs for me to stop wanting him back even after cheating,child custody issues, total disregard for me and my entire family. So, after hearing her speak about Kelsey I now have complete respect for her and like her very much. Camille, I know how hard this is for you but with time you'll wonder what you ever saw in him when you have a new and much younger (than Kelsey) man in your life. Do you guys think I was to hard on Kyle? I really didn't think I was, but maybe because I felt so sorry for Kim, I didn't give Kyle the benefit of considering what this was doing to her as well.

Nobody took up for Kim the entire season. Taylor was the one that called Camille insecure in the airport and Taylor knew it. That's why she freaked out on Kim. She should have known that would be what was shown and she looks like an idiot...as if she needed anymore help with those duck lips. Geez. She can't even eat correctly with those flotation devices on the front of her face.
Loved the Beverly Hills housewives too! I think Taylor is one unhappy lady and at Camille's dinner party when Camille's psychic friend told Kyle that her husband would never fulfill her emotionally.....well I think she was probably channeling Taylor and Russell rather than Kyle and her hubby!
Saw this from Jill's recommendation. The conclusions you drew were spot on to what I saw too....it seemed like all the little "clues" all season long led up to this dramatic finale and a lot of things were explainable, finally. I agree that this was the best season of Housewives ever, and I hope that they can find a way to come back....but not sure after all this. I am interested to see the Reunion show, but imagine it will be like watching someone's private therapy session. Lots of interesting lessons in this one....

I think the little clues all season were really well done by Bravo because I admit, I never saw this ending coming.

Love the show but in all honesty I truly feel that this show was a gift from Kelsy Grammer to Camille..very fake and very staged...no one likes to see a family break up but what was the real surprise??? He moved out right off the bat and let her have the spot light for a while and boom all the publicity a person could want..sorry I just don't believe it was a surprise.

-Holly, that is soooo true. The chanelling was about Taylor's marriage, of course. How I did not cath that one up???
-Kyle is fabulous, but.... I think that she hides a little bit under the diamonds,the hair and the gorgeous clothing.I think she is an honest person, but there is a lot of resentment towards her sister Kim. All season she choose to be "popular" with her gals and not supportive or protective of her blood. (I think you never never give up on your blood, specially sisters, that's just my opinion)
-Kim... Ohhh poor Kim. I felt for her all season. I think she has some issues definitely , but at the end she really tried to fit in,went out of her comfort zone to make new friends and we could see that she really does not like confrontation at all. Why Kyle cannot undestand this??
-Camille, she is a snob. That is the truth, but now I understand why. She was trapped in a marriage where she was not herself. If he kept her caged as she says.. that explains it all. I assume the only entertainment that she was allowed to have was interviewing new staff, shopping for designer's brands,and from tiem to time he let her think that she was a part of a production company. What kind of live is that? Just try to imagine what is like to be someone elses wife and not yourself???. I feel for your pain Camille. I really do.Now is the beginning of your new life. Use those tapes to your advantage, to be better.
-Lisa. What's not to love about this woman?? What?? She is my hero, I love her. She's perfect. Smart, funny, gorgeous, kind and noble,good friend but best of all..Extravagant. I just love her. I can't get enough of her.
-Adrienne is just a real person. So smart, calm and collected.Pure class. She showed the world that money isn't everything. Of course she has a lot, but you could really see that to her, family and values are more important. That marriage... that is a true marriage. They showed it like it is. They cracked me up with the bickering thing. I could relate to that definitely!!!! What a nice family. Adrienne, you have to come back for season two. The show and us fans need you both next season.

I agree with most of what you say. Not sure about the sisters relationship, except that they high should get counseling. I don't feel Kyle should feel indebted o Kim for what Kim provided as a child star. That decision was made by their parents, Kyle was a child herself. Alcoholism has many victims, the drinker and the drinkers loved ones. Which is why they both need help. Kim seems to have fallen in the terrible fate that hits most child stars, being out of the limelight and needing that constant adoration from fans. I felt sorry for both sisters, but let's remember Kim chose to drink and I'm sure it was that reason why she did not speak up for her sister in New York. I have one sister, we have had our fair share of battles over the years, but t 49 and 46 we are each others best friend. Alcohol makes people behave hurtfully and ugly. They wil get past this, but Kim MUST GO BACK TO REHAB and Kyle MUST GO TO AL-ANON.
I pretty much agree with most of what people are saying. My opinion of Camille has changed quite a lot, she has appeared on Howard Stern radio and was so real and devastated about what happened. I honestly think she didn't have a clue about what was coming. I think she has a good heart, but had to defend herself over and over again. I don't want to judge Kyle or Kim, they are sisters and obviously the problems are deep. Taylor - Yuck, does not add anything to the show, I don't even like her relationship with her daughter. Love Lisa and Adrienne, Love Adrienne's Husband. All in all good season, lots of fun.
Loved reading your blog and this finale was very intense, just was too real and sad at the same time. All the women have had so much happen during this season and I am not surprised it just blew up that night, feelings were high, add alcohol to that and that instigating witch Taylor and you had a "recipe for disaster" a storm brewing in a tea cup lol (
Excellent blog and I love all the comments. Reflecting on the season, Kim drank at all the parties. Were we to assume it was water and apple juice? I think rehab was for more than alcohol. Your thoughts?
I adored Lisa and her family. Her husband is a prince of a gentleman, allowing a very handsome man sponge off of him for months on end. Most importantly, a person's love of their pets speaks volumes about their internal goodness. These are good people!
On the other hand, duck lips Taylor and her weirdo husband Russell, who so casually put a dog in a closed box and sprang it on his family like it was a Barbie Corvette to ooh and ah over are heartless people. A pet is a living being, and great consideration should be taken before bringing one into your home. The best thing Taylor did all season wasto give the sweet darling to another home where he will be loved. But in true Taylor style, she didn't give a rat's ass what her child would feel from the loss. Between that and that ridiculous birthday party, it is clear this is one couple that should not have had children.
Kyle and Mauricio were terrific, but my favorite interactions were between Adrienne and Paul. Real marriage and real love.

I think Taylor did to her husband what she did to her friends this entire season. She set him up to look bad by bad-mouthing him to the women and on the personal interviews. Most men are uncomfortable in front of cameras and will come across as socially awkward or insensitive. He knew his daughter wanted a dog (hence, the discussion on whether to get her one) and he got her one for her birthday. Men unlike women, do not think through the ramification of just purchasing a dog and bringing it into a family. i.e., Paul getting a dog for his wife. I felt bad that Taylor was complaining about her husband all the while spending his money. She even complained because he needed to fly from Vegas to Arizona for a meeting. It's not like he went to play golf, he's the one who paying all her bills. Taylor is not a nice woman and caused great harm to the other women. I like all the other women especially Adrienne who showed the world what a great friend she is when she physically put herself in front of Kyle to protect Kim.
I haven't seen the finale, but I hope to today. You brought up some interesting issues with Kyle and Kim. I'll be looking for the clues. I still don't like the Camille we saw. I believe her dislike for Kyle is due to the breakdown of her marriage. Camille witnessed a loving marriage and family with Kyle and that brought up all the missed clues Kelsey was giving her. I don't understand how she let Kelsey "use" her to show up to the Tony's and to not stay in the home she also owned and to stay in a hotel. Kelsey totally disrespected his children's mother. Why didn't Camille stand up for herself and tell Kelsey to take a flying leap. Now Camille is trying to hold up the quickie divorce that Kelsey wants. She needs to tell Kelsey he can have his divorce, just give her what she wants in the settlement.
I did read some of the comments that they believe Camille was blindsided. I totally believe Kelsey was giving her clues all the time but she chose to ignore them trying to "get from behind Kelsey's shadow" and believing that Kyle is "jealous of her" and surrounding herself with "paid friends" that told her what she wanted to here, ala her hairstylist, makeup artist, house manager and psychic. But this is just my opinion.

Nurse-I agree, you can tell a lot about people by how they are with their pets. Frankly, if someone tells me they don't like animals (unless they've had some kind of beyond horrible experience) I really don't won't to hang out with them!
Dawn-I will admit I have a little day dream that Andy does some kind of Housewives "fan panel" kind of show is something! Or some kind of a contest, like meet your fave housewife and come on WWHL with her or something!
Kelly-Interesting points about Taylor and her husband. There are 3 sides to every story, yours mine and the truth. Russell just seems "controlling".

You have hit the nail on the head!I do feel bad for Kim and the constant attack they all give her.Kyle obviously has many issues with her sister and I thought it was very inapropiate to randomly scream them out for all of america to see and know.I think she complained so much to everyone that they all began to look at Kim in a different way.You don't ever humiliate your family like that I totally agree with you on that one.Kyle seems to insult people to her convienance and that say a lot about her as a person.I do believe that Camille is a little out of her mind a not a nice person at all.She always claims they are jealous of her especially when they all went swimming and she was the only one in a bikini.Please get a life and do something real with it other them hiring people to have your children and then do everything else for you in your life.She needs a reality check bigtime!I mean a nanny maybe if you had a job she has like ten people that work for her.What a joke!I also am a recovering alcoholic and what went on on this show may have sent the strongest recovering people I know right into relapse.The scene with her crying in the limo by herself was so sad and if I were her I would not be speaking to Kyle anytime soon if I ever did at all!Love your blog!xo

Kyle is not responsible for Kim's problems. Kim has to take responsibility for her own life. Kim is an adult. Isn't she 50 or 55 ? Time to grow up and face life.
It's nice that Kyle and the Hiltons are willing to support Kim, financially etc; however, I think all the coddling and money tossed to Kim really hasn't helped her stand on her own two feet. You don't do any favors when you excessively pamper and baby a grown woman, if anything it's done the opposite and created a completely helpless and dependent individual.
Listen, who wouldn't love to have wealthy relatives bankroll her? And yet, what has Kim done with her life, while receiving all this financial support? Has she gone to school? Does she continue to work with an acting coach? Has she bothered to call her Agent even once?
I sympathetic to the difficulties and exploitation of child stars (Gary Coleman etc), but I still don't think that's Kyle's fault, or Kyle's obligation to correct it.
Kim acts like she's entitled to lifetime support and never has to do anything for herself. Someone better give her a reality check because at this rate, in 20 years she'll become like some ancient relative the Hiltons keep locked up in the attic and toss a bone to every now and then---that's exactly what happens when you "baby" an adult woman (or man) for years and years.
Kim needs to get her life together and stand on her own too feet----and quick!
Maxine-Kim's bio puts her at being born in 1964. A little younger than you thought.
I remember seeing that Camille and Kelsey used a surrogate because she has IBS.

I truly feel for Kim. As a child, she supported the entire family. Kim's earnings paid for the house, cars and also provided Kyle an entrance into the acting world. Unlike, Kyle, Kim never got to attend school like all the other children her age. And when her mother called to inform her that she had cancer, Kim relocated her entire family (four children) to another state in order to take care of her mother. And the truly sad part is that after her mother died, she discovered the houses and cars that Kim's salary paid for ended up in someone's name. I let you guess whose name that was.

Wow, thank you for shedding some light on this. I have felt for Kim all year. The scene of her being taught to do her make up on her own spoke volumes as to how much of her young life she sacrificed. The price of fame perhaps, but in child stars, you have to wonder if it is the child's choice.

I believe the "Housewives of Beverly Hills" is my favorite (they are the real deal when it comes to wealth and glamour) though I do watch the "New Jersey Housewives" and the "Housewives of DC." That being said, I do hope Bravo brings in a new cast for the second season of "Housewives of DC"; one that truly reflects DC's political power struggle within that city.
I enjoy the Housewife series but I like Beverly Hills and New Jersey the most and the best.
Kim when I was kid I watched the Witch Mountain series a lot. Escape from Witch Mountain was my favorite and if you really are an alcoholic please, get help. Please stop living in the past and look at your children and live for the future. You will have grandchildren who will need your life experience and words of wisdom to help them navigate.
Kyle you have what appears to be such a great marriage may your marriage always grow and blossom to be more romantical and stronger than the year before. Please look after your sister. She has no one else in this World who will care half as much about here then you.
Adrienne you and your husband are so cute. He really gets you and puts up with you. Yeah I said it you are a little bit on the bossy side. Let him wear the pants sometimes. LOL He seems to really love you and I make duaa that he will always be there to love you. Ameen
Lisa you are a special kind of bird and your bloke seems to really be in to you. You may want to put the dog down sometime and curl up with that handsome feller you call your guy. Find Cedric and see how he's doing. He is self destructive and sure he fill himself in a bad situation and again alone and feeling sorry for himself. You dont have to move in your home but at least keep the friendship.
Taylor what was it that made your husband fall in love with you? What kind of a woman were you? What were some of the things you did that he liked? Spend time getting back to basics. Please give up the lips. They do not look natural on you. At least not that size. YOur husband looks like a steak and potato kind of guy your from the midwest girl you need to put on the apron and make him some home cooked meals and stop telling him everything. Don't try to compete with 20 year olds Just do you.
Camielle the very first time I saw the show I was not impressed with your attitude. I only saw the edited version of the 1 hour show and I could clearly see that your husband was not that into you so how can you say you never saw it coming? You were so evil to Kyle and tried to make a riff in her happy home. You really owe her and her husband an apology. You were so ugly towards her it really wasn't becoming of a lady.
I do have to admit that it was watching you fight with everyone that made me want to keep watching plus the fact that its nice too see how the other half (wealth people) lives. Nice, really nice.

Wow, everyone has added so much insight about these women & their Bo's. I'd like to ad my perspective as well. Perhaps a different point of view might fill in some questionables from their 1st Season.
My assessment from Russell, Taylor's husband was that he's socially awkward because of a disorder, i.e., Aspergher's, etc. For instance, Taylor's Birthday Speach... I think he really tried to come out of his shell and deliver the appropriate words. Personally, I feel sorry for the man: He's in a marriage where the woman pursued him to gain status, not because she honestly loved him for who he is. She, like many women ignored the obvious signs of incompatability; thinking instead that she could change him, and/ or that he would change. In fact, if you truly notice his behaviors, he wanted to leave when she was elsewhere & he was left to awkwardly fumble attempting to socialize. I do not believe she love's him, or she would care more about him. Instead she complains that he is not intimate, or giving her what she needs. Well, enough on Russell. I just wanted to give a different perspective from a wife of 25 yrs, who's husband's a socially awkward, Brainiac. I recognized many of their symptoms. I want to add that their is so much hope, if she would be willing to hold his hand & show him how. You've got to give to get. Finally, did anyone else regognize how Taylor treated her Mother like the Nanny at the daughter's Birthday Party? Taylor is the lost one of this cast. She's become quite manipulative when it comes to deflecting. Poor Kim, she didn't realize she'd be Taylor's Scapegoat. One more... The professional basketball game. Kim was on the furthest end from the group. Taylor turned her back to Kim. Why? Could she recognize Social awkwardness? Perhaps she assessed that Kim was in need of kindness & love too (like her husband & mom). She couldn't gain upward mobility. I'll tell you what, I lost all respect for her & Kyle. A previous critic said it best when compairing these woman to the Mean Girls.
This was such an interseting finale. I feel this complete sorrow for Kim and her haing a drinking problem. It seems she tries so hard to make Kyle happy, but fails.
First off no one here has a right to comment on Kim and Kyle's relationship because it's a family matter that should have been kept out of camera's. Unless you lived with them u don't know exactly what happened there. You don't know if Kim actually paid for things for kyle. She says she gave her her first car. But Kyle pays her rent. Those are the things sisters do for each other. Neither of them should throw that in each others face. But the fact of the matter is there is a lot of turmoil for years so for anyone to comment that either is wrong really has no clue. Other than that I will address kitty above who thinks kyle is selfish... yea bc you seen her in show. lol. If anything Camille is the one who was portrayed badly which she should have been because she thinks she is so beautiful and that her crap doesn't stink. And to the girl about who stated that kyle should have stood up for kim about taylor. One kim didn't stick up for kyle so why should she. Number two she's a big girl she can defend herself. And does no one notice that taylor is the starter in all the fights when she instigated the fight with camille and kyle and who started the fight at the dinner party. Had it not been for her we would not have seen the family drama.
